Site Description
Orchard Park is situated in a quiet unspoilt location on the outskirts of the old market town of Tuxford. Set within a mature fruit orchard in the gently rolling Nottinghamshire landscape it is a superb location for relaxing in the countryside.
They offer pitches for touring caravans, tents, trailer tents, small to medium sized motor homes, ideal for week-end breaks, longer holidays, or, for the hectic traveller, just an overnight stop not too far from the A1.
Within a short drive you will find the haunts of Robin Hood, acres of Sherwood Forest, the grand parks of The Dukeries such as Clumber Park (National Trust) and Rufford Abbey.
Activities encompass plenty of walks and gentle cycle rides, through to the more active pursuits of cycling on purpose built challenging trails in Sherwood Pines and High Wire adventure of Go Ape.
Sherwood Forest Visitors Centre and Edwinstowe village host an annual Robin Hood Festival each August.
The nearby towns of Newark – fine market square, civil war castle, riverside location on the River Trent –, Retford – market and former coaching town on the old Great North Road –, Southwell – market town with the 13th century minster church –, Lincoln – cathedral and county town, are all worth a visit.
For children there are several farm parks and wildlife discovery attractions. They have our own David Bellamy conservation award.

The amenities block provides free hot showers, free hair dryers, wash basins, toilets. There is a laundry room with coin operated washing machines and tumble dryer, free spin dryer and free small freezer for cool-box ice blocks.
There is a separate 'access room' designed to disability standards which is also available on request to parents with young children.
Four mains fresh water taps are spaced around the park.
Electric hook up points (10 amps) are available for all mixed-use pitches, and four are provided in the tent field (5 amps, bookable).
There is a play-trail for children on the edge of the old orchard area.
There is a site telephone for outgoing calls.
A small section of the park is reserved as a short dog walk with disposal bin.
The chemical toilet disposal point is behind the amenities block.
A range of food essentials is available from reception, including eggs, fresh milk, ice cream and sweets. They can exchange Calor Gas and Camping Gas bottles. There is an information hut with maps and pamphlets on local attractions and they are available to give advice and local knowledge. A WiFi password is available for a small charge.
An area at the far end of the park has been left to grow naturally for many years, so now it is a lovely nature walk with flowers, birds and butterflies. They have a David Bellamy Silver conservation award.
Tuxford is in Nottinghamshire, close to the A1 trunk road, about 12 miles north of Newark, and 8 miles south of Retford. It is about 30 miles north east of Nottingham and 15 miles west of Lincoln. their road, Marnham Road, is wide enough for easy access with a caravan.
