Relax in the heart of County Durham"
Barnard Castle known as “Barney” to the locals is the nearest town to this lovely Site. It is very peaceful and a good base for exploring Teesdale and the Yorkshire Dales as well as a haven for walkers and cyclists.

The town of Barnard Castle hosts the Teesdale Thrash on May Day Bank Holiday a traditional extravaganza of folk song and dance.
Antiques are a speciality of the area.
Pony trekking is available at Raygill Farm, next to the Club Site.
Deepdale 4x4 Off Road Centre gives the opportunity to try clay pigeon shooting or pony trekking as well as taking a vehicle to the highest pub in England.
Built in 1892 as a public art gallery, the Bowes Museum also hosts exhibitions, demonstrations, craft fairs and an open air theatre. The North of England Lead Mining Museum is at Killhope.
