Site Description
Barnsoul is a working farm of nearly 300 acres of wooded parkland abounding in wildlife - fox, deer, red squirrels and even the occasional otter.
There are over one hundred different species of bird life, including some very rare examples.
Their Chalets, Sheiling and Wigwam Bothies are situated in front of the "Big Wood". They overlook the Mill Pond enjoying superb views across the Old Water Valley.
Wherever you turn there are magnificent views of the rolling Galloway countryside. In the fields graze the traditional black cattle of Galloway and Scottish black face sheep.
Visitors often observe thier wild deer group grazing quietly among the cattle and the local fox surrepticiously following his daily hunting route across the farm.
Use thier woodland trails and paths to observe nature at first hand. Their "Big Wood" is a natural children's playground.
Space is the feature of their site. They have woods, parkland and heath all for their guests enjoyment.
