Site Description

Nestled within the foothills of Schiehallion sits Glengoulandie Country Park, a family run business that boasts some breathtaking scenery and wildlife. Within these grounds sit 14 luxury log cabins, cleverly designed around a picturesque lochan attracting a wonder of varying birds and other wildlife.

Each log cabin has been avidly designed and built to ensure that all guests get the maximum comfort while taking in these wonderous sites.

Not only are these log cabins beautiful inside and out, but they are situated at the foot of Schiehallion "the fairy mountain of the Caledonians", which makes it a great spot for hillwalkers and anyone keen on the outdoors.  Looking out from the cabins you can see Glengoulandie Country Parks' spectacular herd of red deer and highland cattle and for the keen fisherman there is a fly-fishing lochan within the grounds stocked with brown and rainbow trout, but most of all, guests can just sit back and enjoy the peaceful and tranquil place that Glengoulandie truely is!

In nearby Kenmore there is the well known 18 hole golf course at Taymouth Castle. There is also plenty fishing on the banks of the Tay and permits are available at the Kenmore Hotel or Post Office for anyone keen on fly-fishing. An important stop on the way to Kenmore from Glengoulandie is Karelia House, there you can have a lovely coffee and light lunch in their new Scandinavian style coffee shop, there is also a craft centre as well as a great selection of gorgeous Finnish gifts, just something different, but definately worth a visit.

The nearest town of Aberfeldy also has an 18 hole golf course and fantastic field sports ground as well as a newly designed play park for the kids to spend most of the day. There are some great shops and the old Aberfeldy Watermill is worth stopping in to browse at their wonderful selection of books and art. There is also Dewars distillery, where you can take the whisky tour and even sample some Aberfeldy malt. With so much to see in the area you'll be wishing you'd stayed an extra week!
