Site Description

Back-of-Beyond is a family-owned and operated park, on a 30 acre expanse of beautiful Dorset countryside. Their woodland, heathland, lakes and river habitats support a wide range of small wild animals, deer and spectacular birdlife.

They have just 80 pitches in all this space and have gone 'adults-only' to allow their guests to relax, free from disturbance, and to facilitate the development of their quality-of-life philosophy for the park. For your peace of mind, they are highly secure by location, design and technology.

Caravan pitches are level, hard and mostly grass with many water and waste points and all have hook-up of 10 amps. They usually let you pick your own pitch and they welcome all touring units and tents. They have a beautiful woodland glade - Emmasfield - which they keep free for campers wishing to get closer to the wildlife. Sorry, no dogs in this glade!

Because of the quiet, country-park setting it would not be appropriate to offer clubhouses or amusement venues on site. Instead they have river and lake fishing, a 5-acre Pitch & Putt course, Boule, woodland walks and a continuing programme of developing natural outdoor persuits for your enjoyment.

Quiet, well behaved dogs are welcome - on leads in the main park, but they can run free over 18 acres of woods and heathland on the park with secure boundaries.

There are pubs and places to eat within walking distance, shops, major supermarkets and restaurants are a few minutes by car. With the main A31 just half a mile away access is quick and easy to the New Forest, Ringwood, Bournemouth, Christchurch and the World Heritage Coast - a wealth of unique, quality venues on the doorstep.

More Details

They have three fully heated, high quality toilet and shower blocks with power-showers throughout, ladies strip-wash cubicle, private shower room/disabled, hand-dryers, hairdryers and all the usual equipment! Everything is free to use, open 24 hours and kept very clean.

PLUS:
Indoor and outdoor washing-up areas.
Launderette with washing, drying and ironing facilities.
Reception with shop, newspapers, morning bakery, TI and small lending library.
Bottled gas on site.
Two good pubs within walking distance.
Supermarkets, major shops, two caravan and camping centres a short drive away.
They have a woodland-walk in about ten acres of mixed woodland - dogs welcome!

The pitch & putt course is about half a mile long - if you laid the holes end to end. This should keep you out of mischief for a few hours - rabbits, moles and squirrels add to the challenge! Golf 'bats and balls' on free loan. Boule pitch (with round things) also free to use!

Lake and river fishing on site is FREE and just for fun, but both waters can produce some fine catches. You must produce a current licence - dogs are not allowed in these areas. For the dedicated angler, the Stour, Avon and specialist fisheries are a short drive or walk.

DON'T FORGET YOUR BIKES!
Easy rides will take you to Avon Heath and Moors Valley Country Parks, Hurn Forest and Ringwood, a bit further and you're in the New Forest, Bournemouth or Poole.

The more adventurous will get to Salisbury and Christchurch - some routes are simply stunning! We provide local cycling route maps FREE in Reception.
