Site Description
Forest Camping, Tangham Campsite is a spacious, level and well drained caravan & campsite of 2.8 hectares set in the heart of Forestry Commission forest, next to the Rendlesham Forest Centre.
The forest is fully open for walking and cycling (including marked trails) and you may see fallow deer, squirrels, rabbits and birds (including the Nightingale and Nightjar)
There is a way marked path to the famous UFO site from the Rendlesham Forest Centre car park.
Don't forget to take your bicycle to explore the Suffolk Coastal Cycle Route and surrounding forests, countryside, rivers and coast. Cycle and footpath maps are sold in the shop.
For those with a desire for peace and quiet, there are plenty of spots on the coast or by the rivers Deben, Ore and Alde to get away from the crowds. You can take a boat trip along the River Ore, around Havergate Island to view the birds and plants in this protected area. There are also boat trips along the rivers Deben and Orwell and small ferries to take you across both these rivers and the nearby Butley Creek.
