SITE INFORMATION

Callow Top is a family owned holiday park established in 1975 by Alan and Jill Palmer who are the proprietors and still very active in the running of the site.

They are assisted by their grown children Kay, Rob, park general manager Sue and their partners. There are three generations of the family working on the site to make your stay as enjoyable and homely as possible

The park itself is situated in an elevated position in the Derbyshire countryside, allowing for stunning panoramic views of the Peak District National Park. Despite this, Callow Top is easily accessible, with flat ground sheltered by a perimeter of high hedgerows which house a variety of bird life.

A Practical Caravan Top 100 site for the last 4 years & East Midlands Holiday Park of the Year 2009, Callow Top is an award winning family holiday park. Within easy reach of Ashbourne, Bakewell, Matlock and Buxton, Callow Top is a picturesque location for your caravan or camping holiday in the Derbyshire & Staffordshire Peak District.

The facilities at Callow Top are second-to-none, and the options during your stay in the Peak District are endless. At Callow Top, they have everything you need on site to cater for a fun-filled family holiday, as well as being close to all the area’s major attractions. You really will have the best of both worlds there  and if you don’t feel like exploring, you needn’t leave the park if you don’t want to!

Everybody will enjoy the many walks nearby, and there is a swimming pool, pool and table tennis available if you fancy a more energetic pursuit. If you need a rest from all that walking and activity, you can relax by taking a dip in the swimming pool, or simply take a few moments to sit by the park’s well-stocked fishing lake and enjoy a pint from the on-site brewery. There is so much to enjoy in this beautiful area, and at Callow Top you have the opportunity to discover it all at your own leisure.

The site welcomes caravans, tents, trailer tents, motorhomes and campervans with all the required amenities on your doorstep to make your camping holiday in the Peak District as enjoyable and comfortable as possible. They have both hardstanding pitches with electric hook-up, or grass pitches without.

Some of otheir hardstanding pitches are separated by conifer hedges, offering extra privacy for your added comfort. They have a number of larger hardstanding pitches suitable for motorhomes up to 30ft, larger twin-axle caravans, or caravans with bedroom annexes on the awning. Please ask at the time of booking if you require a larger pitch. All hardstanding pitches have a small area of grass to one side to peg the edge of your awning into. Please be aware that you may need to peg down into the hardstanding at the front and back of your awning. Heavy-duty (rock) pegs are needed and can be purchased from their shop.

3 toilet blocks, 2 with showers (please note only 1 or 2 blocks may be open according to the time of season.) Small charge for showers.

Dogs are welcome on site, as long as they are kept on a lead at all times. They are very sorry but dogs are not allowed in the Callow Inn, Arnold’s Café Bar, Callow Top shop, swimming pool area or fishing lake/nature reserve.
