SITE INFORMATION
The Fort Augusta is a scenic family run 4 acre site, set in the quiet and secluded village of Fort Augustus, located half a mile from the southern end of Loch Ness.
Fort Augustus Caravan Park is situated in the heart of the Great Glen, providing an excellent base for touring the Highlands.
A wide selection of restaurants, bars and shops are available by the side of the Caledonian Canal which is only a short walk away.
There are hourly cruises on Loch Ness which leave from the village, giving you the chance to see Loch Ness a bit closer and perhaps you may even see our most famous resident, Nessie or visit the Official Loch Ness Monster Exhibition Centre at Drumnadrochit which provides a much more in depth insight into Scotland’s most famous star.
Fort Augustus is an ideal place from which to enjoy some of the many outdoor activities available in the area. Excellent walking and mountain climbing paths surround the area and The Great Glen Way passes right through the centre of the village. Golf, fishing and tennis are just some of the many activities which can be enjoyed here.
You will also find yourself within easy reach of many great Highland attractions and places of historical interest. To the north lies Inverness (33 miles), capital of the Highlands which has excellent shops, cinemas, theatre, restaurants and attractions such as Culloden Battlefield which saw the defeat of Bonnie Prince Charlie in 1746. To the South lies the town of Fort William (32 miles) which lies at the base of Ben Nevis. Hill climbing and skiing are very popular in this region and spectacular views can be admired from the top of Nevis Range if you take a trip up on one of the gondolas.
