Surrounded by beautiful countryside and is only 9 miles from the coast.

Steeped in history, the park is ideally situated for visiting Culzean Castle, Burns Cottage and Crossraguel Abbey.

Ayr (14miles) offers great shopping, a beach/play park, Ayr Racecourse, Scottish Championship football at Ayr United and lots more.

You will be spoilt for choice when eating out with a range of food to tempt all tastes! –  Po King, Souter Johnnies,  Brunston Castle and many more are all within 10 miles.

Dark Sky – Whilst the park have their own ‘dark sky’ above  the park only 15 miles away is the world’s first large public use observatory within a gold tier Dark Sky Park at Craigengillan Estate, Dalmellington. Its location, on the edge of the Galloway Forest Dark Sky Park, set up in 2009 by Forestry Commission Scotland, means that it enjoys some of the darkest skies in the world; the park itself being one of only ten in the world to be recognised by the International Dark-sky Association. Countless stars, the Milky Way, shooting stars, planets, comets and the Northern Lights are all visible from the area.  The new observatory will provide a spectacular opportunity to view and appreciate the night sky through state-of-the art telescopes and imaging equipment.

For those of you that can’t resist the call of the sea the paddle steamer The Waverley sails from Ayr and Girvan with day cruises to the Lochs and Isles of the West of Scotland.
