SITE INFORMATION

Witton Castle Country Park is situated in the heart of County Durham amidst 330 acres of beautiful landscape at the foot of the pennines. The 14th Century Castle forms the centrepiece of the park and provides a peaceful haven for visitors and Holiday home owners.

Witton Castle is situated in the foothills of the Pennines, one mile from the A68 and 15 minutes from the A1. The holiday home pitches are set in amongst the most stunning grounds available in the North-east of England, and the touring caravan and camping site enjoy magnificent views of the castle.

As the local attractions have been developed and their advantages become known the reputation of Witton Castle has spread as an ideal base for an extended visit to Northumbria.

Only a short drive away are are countless beauty spots and places of interest, including magnificent stretches of coastline and numerous stately homes.

Inside the castle can be found a family bar which regularly hosts entertainment evenings and other events for caravan owners and visitors alike. Bingo is also available in the Grand State Room.

During the summer season visitors have the use of a take-away cafeteria, a gift and grocery shop and games and television rooms.

The parklands are popular for large-scale outdoor events such as traction-engine rallies, country sports, fairs, gymkhanas, barbecues and even mock Civil War battles.
